How to Navigate the Basics Tab in Prepped’s Settings Page

In this guide, we’ll go over the Basics Tab on the Prepped platform’s Settings Page. This section allows you to manage important details about your meal prep business, including your shop’s web domain, mobile apps, contact details, and feature settings.

1. Shop Site and Mobile Apps

At the top of the page, you’ll find links to your:

  • Shop Domain: This is the link to your online store where customers place their orders.
  • iOS and Android Apps: Once you reach your 100th order, we provide a free iOS app for your business. You’ll also find links to both your iOS and Android app store pages.

2. Contact Information and Business Name

  • Phone Number, Contact Name, Business Name, and Email: These details are displayed, but they are disabled for editing on this page. Any changes to your business name must be updated manually by us to reflect in your mobile app’s name on Apple and Google Play. Just reach out to us when you need a name update.

3. Default Region

  • Set a Default Region: We highly recommend setting a default region, especially for vendors operating in a single region. This automatically selects the region when you navigate to your menu, saving you time from manually choosing it each time.

4. Feature Flags

  • Enable or Disable Features: The platform offers several feature flags that allow you to turn on or off certain capabilities based on your business needs.

    • Reviews: Enabling customer reviews can help drive buyer intent, but there’s always the potential for a few negative reviews. Choose wisely based on your brand strategy.

    • Goal Center: This feature is especially popular with vendors catering to fitness-conscious customers. It allows customers to see updates to macronutrient information (calories, proteins, fats, etc.) in real-time as they customize their meals, such as adding or removing ingredients. This feature is a standout in the Prepped platform.

5. Kill Switches

  • Cutoff Kill Switch: Sometimes, customers miss order cut-off times, which can cause issues with production planning. This global kill switch allows you to temporarily disable cutoffs so a customer can place an order after the deadline.

  • Mobile App Kill Switch: In case of app malfunctions or bugs, we provide an option to redirect all app traffic to your website. This keeps the ordering process smooth while we work on fixing the issue. Website updates can be deployed quickly—within minutes—but app store reviews and updates take longer (up to a day).

Conclusion
